Georgetown College, located 12 miles from Lexington in the heart of the Bluegrass, is a four-year, private liberal arts institution affiliated with the Kentucky Baptist Convention. The college has been named one of the a top national liberal arts colleges by U.S. News and World Report. Chartered in 1829 but with origins dating to 1787, Georgetown has produced 34 college and university presidents, five Rhodes scholars, and numerous state and national leaders in business, education, religion, science, and the fine arts. Dr. William H. Crouch, Jr. is the 23rd president of the college, which has an enrollment of more than 1,600 undergraduate and graduate students. |

Georgetown's curriculum offers many opportunities for exploring the intersection points of faith and discipline. Through departmental majors and minors, area studies, interdisciplinary programs, honors study, independent research, study abroad, and wide-ranging internships, students confront knowledge and issues in the context of application and action. Emphasizing leadership development, the College's Gatton Program welcomes sophomores to pursue a series of extracurricular activities culminating in a medallion at commencement. Civic and corporate leaders from throughout the nation and the world regularly visit the campus and interact with students. The pervasive presence of technological resources on campus have enabled Georgetown College to be recognized as a leader among the state's higher education institutions. |
